The
West Moreton Orchid Group Inc. was founded on Saturday 22nd
October, 1960, to promote good fellowship among all those interested in
Orchid culture and horticulture in general. To further the knowledge and
advancement of all that involves Orchids, their natural history,
cultivation and hybridization and to prevent the destruction of our native
flora. |

MEMBERSHIP FORM |
The
Group is a Day Society and meets on the fourth Saturday afternoon of each
month, except November and December, in the Limestone Street UCA Hall
(corner of Limestone and Ellenborough Streets, Ipswich). The Meeting
commences at 2pm. Visitors and new Members are always welcomed at
Meetings. The Meetings feature Guest Speakers; talking on gardening
subjects as well as Orchid growing. |

The
West Moreton Orchid Group Inc. hold two Orchid Shows a year. Autumn Show is in
April and the Spring Show is in September. Both Shows are held in the Ipswich
City Square Shopping Centre, Brisbane Street, Ipswich. The Show is open to the
public during normal shopping hours. The Group also has a Mini Show in the
Ipswich City Square either late November or early December to coincide with the
Christmas festive season.
The
Group hold two Slide Evenings a year (May and October). Bus trips and social
gatherings are held to enjoy the friendship of other Members.
